Transportation from Chania Airport to Minoa Palace Hotel

Arrangements have been made, for TCM participants, for bus transfer from Chania airport to Minoa Palace hotel, on Sunday 9 October, at the following departure times:

18:30 hrs and 23:35 hrs.

Please note that the meeting point will be at the “AVIS RENT A CAR” office, outside the arrivals lounge of the airport.

Look for the host who will be carrying a TCM sign.

Symposium Location The hotel is situated in the cosmopolitan area of Platanias, 12km west of the picturesque town of Chania and only 30min drive from Chania Airport and can be reached by bus or taxi. There are two international airports on Crete. Heraklion Airport (Kazantzakis International Airport) and Chania Airport (Ioannis Daskalogiannis International Airport) and we strongly advise that participants arrive into Chania Airport for the TCM2016 as opposed to the previous TCM’s whereby Heraklion Airport was the most convenient. Chania Airport is located 10 Km East of Chania City, on the north west of Crete. Chania Airport is directly connected to Athens International Airport with around 10 domestic flights daily run by Olympic Air and Aegean Airlines. There are also other direct scheduled airline connections from major European cities as well as many charter flights from most European countries. Ryanair offer charter flights from many UK airports direct to Chania. You can travel to Chania, Crete from anywhere in the world via Athens, the capital of Greece. The distance from Athens is about 307 Km and air time from Athens to Chania is about 40 min. Alternatively, one can use the ferry-boat connecting Chania with the harbour of Piraeus (Athens). Connection is offered by ANEK Lines and the overnight trip takes about 7 hours.
