The European Research Council (ERC,
, established in 2007 by the
European Commission, is the first pan-European funding organisation aiming to stimulate
frontier research by encouraging competition for funding between ambitious, creative
researchers of any nationality and age. This presentation will explain the ERC's funding
opportunities under the European Union's Horizon 2020 Framework Programme for Research
and Innovation (2014-2020), for researchers who are keen to develop and fast-track their
careers in Europe. The model is simple: one researcher, one host institution in a European
Union Member State or Associated Country, one project, and one selection criterion:
scientific excellence.
